 The 1953 Winston County Yellow Jackets were chosen Class A State Champions by the Birmingham News from District 4.
 

 
 

The 1953 Winston County Yellow Jackets were led by All-State player Tom Jeff Henderson. He touched the ball a total of 106 times during the season for a total of 1,422 yards of total offense while scoring 29 touchdowns. He also kicked 13 extra points.

Henderson led the state in scoring. The Yellow Jackets ended the season undefeated and winners of their past eighteen straight games.
